Meet 3-year-old Athena. She was diagnosed with Trisomy 9 Mosaic, a rare genetic disorder that causes weakness in her arms and legs, affecting her balance and endurance. Despite her challenges, Athena remains a happy and active little girl.

Athena has many interests. She loves to sing along when Mom plays Simple Songs. She enjoys story time with Mom and Dad—her favorite book is Going on a Bear Hunt. Curious by nature, Athena loves spending time outdoors. Though she is quiet and often prefers to remain in her own little world, she inspires everyone around her and makes the world a brighter place.

Athena needed an Adaptive Therapy Tricycle to continue her physical therapy at home in a fun way. This special tricycle also gives her the chance to join family bike rides and enjoy time with her peers. Thanks to the generosity of The William Cissell Foundation, Athena has received her very own Adaptive Therapy Tricycle—now she can simply be a kid and ride like the wind!
