Meet Darnell!
Meet 13-year-old Darnell! Bubbly, friendly and always smiling, Darnell brings a bright ray of sunshine wherever he goes. Shortly after birth, Darnell was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS). While these conditions cause immobility and seizures, they don’t stop his joyful spirit from shining through to everyone he meets.
Darnell loves bright colors and has the personality to match! He likes the outdoors, but his absolute favorite thing is sitting in his activity chair to watch PAW Patrol. When it’s time to eat, he is happiest when his family cooks him his favorite Latino food.
Darnell cannot get into the family shower on his own. He relies completely on his mom to lift and move him, and she has no outside help. Right now, the bathtub has a high lip that blocks Darnell from getting in, which makes bath time very difficult and unsafe.
