Meet Henry!

Meet 6-year-old Henry! This outgoing young boy was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1 as an infant, after his parents noticed he had poor head control and was very weak. He had to spend two weeks in the hospital, and due to complications swallowing and breathing, a G-tube had to be inserted. He has been wheelchair bound since he was a toddler.

Despite Henry’s trials, he doesn’t let anything bring him down! He is an avid train collector and loves all things Thomas the Tank Engine. He also enjoys watching Disney/Pixar’s Cars and the Super Mario Bros movie. He credits the tenacious green dinosaur, Yoshi, as his favorite character. In Henry’s spare time, he enjoys jamming out to the Y2K classic, “Who Let the Dogs out?,” going swimming or to the beach, and playing with his train collection. However, the best trait about Henry is his determination and sense of humor. He can make anyone laugh and lighten up even the darkest day!

Henry is in need of a lightweight power wheelchair. His current chair is a heavy manual chair, and it is becoming more of a burden to transport it everywhere he goes. A foldable power wheelchair will give him the independence to move around freely, have more social interaction and provide him with a better quality of life. Please be his sponsor!
