Meet Jed!
Meet 9-year-old Jed! Jed wasn’t meeting his typical baby milestones such as keeping his head up straight, so at 7 months old, they diagnosed him with hypotonia. He has gait issues, a chromosomal abnormality, is non-verbal and has other developmental delays. Jed uses a walker and manual wheelchair to get from place to place due to his decreased strength in his muscles.
Despite Jed’s diagnosis, he remains a very social young boy and loves to be surrounded by others. Some of his favorite outings include going to Sea World to watch the dolphin and orca shows, and going to his local beach. Jed loves to swim and be outdoors! Jed’s favorite activity is riding a therapy bike at his school and getting the exercise he needs to help improve his muscle strength. Jed’s outgoing personality makes him a breath of fresh air and likable to all who meet him.
