Meet Joaquin – A Charismatic Teen Who Inspires Everyone Around Him. Joaquin is a remarkable 16-year-old who faces life’s challenges with courage and a bright spirit. He was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder that causes his joints to stretch beyond the normal range. This leads to frequent joint pain and dislocations, affecting his balance and mobility. Despite these hurdles, Joaquin remains active, positive, and full of life.

He’s a huge football fan, especially when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys. In his downtime, you’ll find him immersed in YouTube videos, captivated by audiobooks, or diving into his favorite school subject—Math. Joaquin also shares a deep bond with his four beloved dogs, and nothing brings him more joy than spending time with them.

Though he tends to be quiet and enjoys the comfort of his own world, Joaquin has a magnetic charm that touches everyone he meets. He loves playing video games, with GTA 5 topping his list. Joaquin’s warmth, intelligence, and loving nature make him a truly special young man who brightens the lives of those around him.

Joaquin needs a wheelchair lift for his vehicle to safely transport his power wheelchair to medical appointments, school, and home. His grandmother reached out to Wheelchairs 4 Kids for help transferring their existing lift to a new car. Thanks to the generosity of Troy at Big Country Mobility, the lift has been successfully installed! This equipment will give Joaquin greater freedom, independence, and safety.
