Meet 11-year-old Josie, who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at birth. She has low muscle tone and weakness in her arms and legs, which affects her balance. Despite these challenges, Josie remains a happy, active, and determined young girl.
Josie is a huge fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and loves watching Disney movies—especially Finding Nemo, Finding Dory, and both Frozen films. She’s a bright student who enjoys learning new things, with reading being her favorite subject. At home, Josie adores her dogs, Leo and Gigi, her guardian angels, and is known for playfully annoying her brother. Though she can be quiet and prefers to stay in her own world, her presence inspires everyone around her and makes our world a better place.
Josie’s mom reached out to wheelchairs 4 kids to get assistance in getting Josie a Gait Trainer to help strengthen her muscles, improve her balance, and allow her to take part in more activities with her family and friends. With the support and generosity from Baycare she received the much-needed gait trainer and is taking big steps toward independence.
