Meet Melania!
Meet 2-year-old Melania! Melania was born severely premature, leading to her cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus diagnosis. She spent several months in the NICU and had to have 4 brain surgeries, one heart surgery, one eye surgery, and a stomach surgery all before she turned a year old! Melania is prone to Grand-mal seizures caused by a cyst in her spinal fluids. She cannot sit up or walk on her own. She has poor trunk control and is reliant on a medical stroller or a stander for assistance.
Despite Melania’s struggles, she remains a sweet, smiley little girl! She loves the Disney Princesses and is lucky enough to live close enough to Disney World where she can visit them often. Her favorites are Ariel and Tiana from the Princess and the Frog. She also enjoys listening to popular YouTube sensation Ms. Rachel when she is singing upbeat and happy children’s songs. Melania loves being read to, especially Bible stories. Melania is small, but mighty! She is a fighter who always tries her best and never gives up, and although she is non-verbal, her understanding of the world around her speaks volumes.
Melania received a Rifton activity chair to help provide her a supportive seating system that will assist with feeding, playtime, and helping to develop her fine more skills. Special thanks to the Citrus Valley Poker League and CII Brokers for being her generous sponsors!
