Meet Michael!
Meet 16-year-old Michael! Michael was born prematurely at only 6 months in the womb. His birth mother had suffered from addictions and never received pre-natal care. Michael was born with cerebral palsy and is unable to walk without assistance. He has endured several surgeries including one on his brain where a VP shunt was inserted, due to a portion of his skull missing.
Despite Michael’s challenges, he remains an optimistic and fun-loving young man. Michael is a fan of the Power Rangers as well as scary movies- Chucky being his favorite! When it comes to listening to music, he enjoys the smooth vocals of Bruno Mars. As a sports enthusiast, Michael loves supporting his local team, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Michael is also a thrill-seeker, and venturing out to theme parks is his favorite pastime. Michael is considered a miracle child, beating the odds of survival– and the strength and courage he shows by always being accepting and loving speaks volumes about him!
Michael is in need of a lightweight power wheelchair. He currently has a large, heavy duty power chair that can not be transported, as his family vehicle will not accommodate a lift that will work for his current chair. A lighter power wheelchair will provide him with independence and will be easy to transport without modifying his family’s vehicle. Please be his sponsor!
