Meet Omar!

Meet Omar! A bright and determined 15-year-old boy with a heart as big as his imagination. He has a deep love for learning, especially when it comes to reading non-fiction books and exploring the rich stories of history. At a very young age, Omar began experiencing difficulty walking, which left his mom worried. After numerous tests, Omar was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, an inherited disease that causes progressive muscle weakness and degeneration.
Despite the challenges that Omar faces, his mom describes him as a strong and thankful kiddo, he always chooses to look at the positives in life. However, Omar’s courage is just one part of what makes him special. He is also very compassionate and kindhearted; always checking in to see how others are doing, and wants to help others feel better. He’s the kind of kid who reminds you what resilience looks like, facing his challenges with grace and a quiet strength.
Omar was in need of a new wheelchair that will give him the comfort, support, and mobility he deserves. This isn’t just equipment—it’s his independence, his classroom seat, his way to stay connected to the world he’s so eager to learn about. Thanks to a sponsorship through an annoymous donor, Wheelchairs 4 Kids was able to assist Omar in obtaining the Manual Wheelchair that he desperately needed.
