Meet Raymond!

Meet 17-year-old Raymond! This charismatic young man is full of energy. Sadly, he was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare form of cancer that formed in his brain, less than a year ago. He has had to go through radiation treatment and suffered a brain bleed in April, causing left side palsy and leaving him unable to walk without assistance.

Ray is a thoughtful, insightful, and inspiring person! Having been through so much in just a few months has been challenging, but he remains an optimist. Ray has many fun interests, including reading and writing. He loves the classic novel, “The Great Gatsby,” and enjoys the humor in his favorite TV shows, Ted Lasso and How I Met Your Mother. Ray is also a fan of the Harry Potter franchise and has read all the books and seen all the movies. He likes R&B and pop music, and Maroon 5 is his most listened to band. Ray used to be a varsity basketball player and adores Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. As a teenager, he enjoys shopping for cologne and has a large collection of shoes. Ray is confident and outgoing and makes friends wherever he goes!

Since Ray is now wheelchair bound, he struggles to get into his family’s bathtub and requires transfer help and a shower chair for assistance. It has become both unsafe and challenging for him. A roll-in shower would help immensely and give him the privacy and independence he needs for his hygiene needs. Please consider being his sponsor!
