Meet Valentina!
Meet 9-year-old Valentina. Valentina was diagnosed at birth with a brain injury known as hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy or HIE, which was caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain. Valentina lacks balance and coordination. While she is able to walk with the assistance of a walker, she uses a manual wheelchair for school and distances.
Valentina remains a feisty little girl despite her diagnosis and finds joy and spontaneity in everyday situations. She is a fan of the popular children’s show, The Wiggles. You can find her moving and grooving along to her favorite song, KC and the Sunshine Band’s “Boogie Shoes.” She loves all types of musical toys, but her favorite is her beloved cat piano in which she tries to mimic the sounds. Valentina can be stubborn at times and doesn’t like to be told no, but she is also sweet and kind-hearted to all she meets and greets them with a giant grin!
Valentina is in need of a new manual wheelchair. She has outgrown her current chair, and it is no longer providing her with the support needed. She needs a lightweight chair for transportation and school. Please be her sponsor!
