Meet Zoey!

Meet 14-year-old- Zoey! Zoey was born a healthy child and then her mom noticed she wasn’t meeting her typical baby milestones. Doctors did genetic testings, but still couldn’t diagnose anything. It took over a year to get the results, and Zoey was diagnosed with a very rare condition called Aicardi-Goutieres Syndrome, which also led to Moyamoya, causing lack of oxygen to the brain. Zoey is also at a high risk for strokes. She had unsuccessful growth plate surgery and also has scoliosis.

Despite Zoey’s challenges, she remains a ray of sunshine and can warm up anyone’s day with just her smile! Zoey is a big fan of country music, and her favorites include Dolly Parton, George Strait, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus. She has recently started watching Hannah Montana and loves spotting the country guest stars on the show! Zoey is a crafty girl who enjoys making bracelets and coloring. She is also in a dance and musical theater class and loves every second of it! Zoey lives each day with a kind and grateful heart. She is truly unstoppable!

Zoey requires a new manual wheelchair. Due to her scoliosis worsening, her current chair no longer provides her with the proper support. She needs more lateral support in order for her to keep participating safely in community events. Please be her sponsor!
