Meet Mohamed!
Meet 15-year-old Mohamed. He was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He was once active and healthy. Mohamed, sadly, is losing many of his abilities. He cannot walk and needs help with many simple tasks. Mohamed strives to be cheerful despite his hardships.
Mohamed has a few ways of enjoying life. He listens to classical music, including Beethoven. Mohamed is highly intelligent, and it shows when he plays his favorite game, chess. He is a dedicated student who is enrolled in all advanced courses. Mohamed, most of all, loves to read, especially The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. There is more to Mohamed than his interests. He is a gentle peacemaker, even when somebody else is being rude. He is empathetic and feels another person’s pain—he is determined to make them feel better. Meet Mohamed. His limitations increase nearly every day, but his heart continues to grow with limitless love.
Mohamed needed a new power chair. Currently, his chair is too small. This will provide the proper support and comfort as Mohamed grows. With the help of a grant through Sorenson, we were able to help Mohamed get his new wheelchair!
