Meet Ruben!

Meet nine-year-old Ruben. This sweet boy was born prematurely and spent several months in intensive care. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and endures mobility challenges. He walks with braces and only in short distances. Ruben remains happy despite these and other trials.

Ruben knows how to have fun. He listens to upbeat reggaeton music. He is a fan of Avengers comics and Spiderman movies. Ruben has a cool collection of Avengers toys from his favorite lunch, McDonald’s Happy Meals. He likes socializing with his classmates during school. Most of all, Ruben loves hanging out with his best friend. Ruben is a great kid, too. He is very smart. He analyzes his own problems to figure out how to accomplish tasks without help, such as learning to play basketball despite his obstacles. He is a little gentleman who pulls out chairs for his mom. He is friendly and greets everybody. In short, Ruben is a disabled boy who is perfect in every way.

Ruben needed an adaptive tricycle to improve his leg strength, balance, and endurance. The exercise will also be a fun way for him to be with friends. Thanks to a grant through Broadrick, we were able to help Ruben get the trike he needs!
