Michael’s Success Story

Michael is a sweet 3-year-old boy who sustained nonaccidental traumatic brain injury when he was less than 1 year old.  As a result, Michael suffers from seizures, is unable to speak or walk, and is globally developmentally delayed; he is also blind.  Michael has a new family who adores him, and his new mom just loves her little “marshmallow” baby.

Michael is growing really fast now, and he is unable to give any help during ADLs.  Mom repeatedly struggled with lifting him for dressing, changing, and bathing.  Michael’s physical therapist recommended a Hoyer lift, which insurance would not cover, and the family could not afford to purchase on their own.

Fortunately, the Jim and Tabitha Furyk Foundation came to the rescue and sponsored Michael’s lift.  Thank you!
