Mia gets a TiLite Twist Wheelchair!
August 2014- Mia receives a TiLite Twist wheelchair! Mia really needed an ultra-lightweight manual wheelchair so that she could operate it herself and become more independent. Furthermore, the new wheelchair is allowing her to go out more often since it is easy to transport.
Mia is described by her mother as the sweetest girl on earth! The 4-year-old little girl has Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type II and as a result endures many great challenges. She is unable to walk and has difficulty sitting upright. Mia, however, conquers her challenges by finding ways to make life fun.
Mia adores Disney princess characters. Her eyes shine brightly when watching Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella. Mia also likes outdoor activities, including going to the park and soaring high in the swing! Her favorite, though, is swimming in a pool. The cool water really relaxes and refreshes her body. Mia is not held down by her limitations and she loves trying new activities. Mia’s favorite song is from the movie “Frozen” and the lyrics describe her best, “It’s time to see what I can do. To test the limits and break through.”
