Michael Gets a Bike!

photo 3-1Wheelchairs 4 Kids was able to get Michael a specialized Rifton Tricycle. The trike will facilitate improvement in the muscular strength and stamina in his legs. Michael uses one at school and this is his favorite physical pastime. Now he has his own which will help him keep moving towards health and happiness!

7 year-old Michael is an outgoing boy who has a variety of hindrances, including Hunter Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. Michael also deals with Glaucoma, Asthma and Scoliosis. Each day presents hurdles for Michael, such as the difficulties he experiences with range of motion and mobility. None of these prevent him from being a happy boy who is willing to share a smile.

Michael loves his visits to the YMCA and the Kidz Club where he participates in many fun activities that distract him from the daily tribulations of his disease. Michael also loves getting outside and is a people person who never meets a stranger.
