“This bike has brought my son great joy!! It has given me the motivation needed to exercise more because every day if weather permits my son is ready set go to ride his very own bike!  Michael and I are so grateful to be able to benefit from him having a adaptive bike of his own and now he doesn’t get in much trouble at school for not wanting to share at school because he know he has his very own at home waiting for him to arrive.  This bike has given me as a mother such joy because I already felt horrible because I couldn’t afford to buy my son a bike because of the price, now to know that he has it brought tears to my eyes the moment I saw him take off on it with a huge smile.  I really appreciate and thank Wheelchairs 4 Kids for blessing us with this adaptive bike because it has brought Michael and I such happiness!  Thanks for all you do for all kids and families and we pray continued blessings for each and every staff at Wheelchairs 4 Kids.”  Michael’s Mom on her son’s new bike

“Bradley is now able to use his power wheelchair out in the community – before the chair was kept at school. He has already been to therapy and to doctor appointments with his chair! It’s great to let him drive himself, rather than being pushed in a manual chair all the time.” Bradley’s Mom on his power wheelchair carrier for their van

To Whom It May Concern,

Ability Plus Therapy is a pediatric therapy clinic in Melbourne, Florida. We provide physical, occupational, speech-language, and intensive suit therapy. We are the largest pediatric rehab clinic in Brevard County. We treat patients with various conditions including cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, developmental delay, autism, ADD, ADH, spina bifida, spinal cord injury, just to name a few. These patients not only require therapy, but also equipment and modifications in order to function at their optimal level, access their environment, and participate in family and peer activities.

Some patients have insurance. Often, their insurance does not cover certain equipment that is necessary for their function and participation. Sometimes, they may cover the least costly equipment but the patient may need more costly equipment that provides better support or enhances their function.

Wheelchairs 4 Kids is a not-for-profit organization that helps children with their equipment needs through charities. In 2012, they have helped about 10 of our patients with car seats, strollers, adaptive tricycles, wheelchair parts and standers. One example is a 6-year old girl with cerebral palsy. She was in need of a stroller because lifting her heavy wheelchair in and out of her parents van is very difficult when they go out. She had an adaptive stroller that was too small for her causing back problems and bad posture. She has Medicaid but they only pay for either a wheelchair or a stroller every 5-7 years. Wheelchairs 4 Kids was able to provide her with a brand new stroller!

Madeline Robinson and her team at Wheelchairs 4 Kids are very caring and have done an outstanding job in helping our patients. They personally deliver the equipment at our facility which makes it even more memorable to our patients and their families. I have worked with other foundations, and Wheelchairs 4 Kids far exceeds all of them. We look forward to working with Wheelchairs 4 Kids in years to come.

Thank you in advance for your support. Your support will help many children by providing them with a better quality of life.

Should you have any questions/ please contact me at (321) 255-6627.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Wheelchairs 4 Kids for ALL that they do to provide necessary health and mobilization services to our students. Working as a school social worker for the Broward County School System, I see first-hand that resources are constantly being depleted, but the need for services is consistently growing. I am grateful to Madeline Robinson for always being responsive, committed, and thorough when helping the students that I have referred to the Wheelchairs 4 Kids program. Uncompromising dedication is necessary to support the needs of the children we are challenged to serve.

Thank you for providing the Necessary equipment to help families so that they can live Better Lives! Just look at the smile on our student’s face.

Sincerely,

Dear Madeline and Wheelchairs 4 Kids,

Thank you so much for your life changing gift for Gabriela.  Gabriela is not able to speak, read, write, or walk, but thanks to you, she now has the ability to express herself through movement.  The Up N Go gives Gabriella the ability to be upright and work her muscles, and with God’s good will, she will one day gain enough strength to walk.  Without your generous gift, Gabriella would have continued to be confined to a sedentary life devoid of all hope of ever gaining the strength and practice needed to be ambulatory.  Gabriella’s frustration at not being able to communicate or move about on her own is evidenced daily through fits of anger, screaming, lashing out and crying.  When in the Up N Go, Gabriella’s smile, laughter, and shrieks of joy express her thanks at finally giving her a feeling of control. Words cannot express our gratitude for giving Gabriella a sense of pride, independence, and most of all joy. Every time I see my little girl upright and squealing with delight, tears of joy stream uncontrollably down my  cheeks.  If Gabriella could talk, she would join me in saying “”May God bless you for giving us such immense joy.  Thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts”.

With immeasurable gratitude,

Marlene and Gabriella Perez

“We don’t know what the future holds for Nolan. Right now he has cancer in his brain and spine and a painful condition of the spine called Arachnoiditis, severe bi-lateral hearing loss (wears hearing aids), feeding problems (has a g-tube),but there’s nothing about cancer that can take away his wonderful attitude and his determination to get better.  He has overcome so many obstacles and I know it’s his ability to never give up! This wheelchair will help him be able to go everywhere without the worry of pain and fatigue.  I can’t thank you enough! The difference this is going to make in the life of many families is amazing!”     Nolan’s Mom

“The MDA is looking forward to working with Wheelchairs 4 Kids!  We see a need for an organization such as this on a daily basis.  Many forms of muscular dystrophy are degenerative and as they progress children begin to need the assistance of a wheelchair.  To purchase a new wheelchair is unfeasible for many families and they need to turn to outside sources to help with this major life decision.  Wheelchairs 4 Kids will be a great resource to these families and help provide them with not only the support they need, but will also be a shining light for them in their time of need!”    Lucas Coe – The Muscular Dystrophy Association
