Meet Eliana!

Meet four-year-old Eliana. She was born with a form of spinal muscular atrophy. She can independently crawl on the floor, but she normally uses her wheelchair to get from place to place. Eliana also needs help with most daily living skills. She remains a bubbly, cheerful girl despite these trials.

Eliana has a variety of interests. Her favorite songs are “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and “Put a Little Love in Your Heart.”  She enjoys bedtime stories—her mom is a member of Dolly Parton’s library and Eliana receives many books from the superstar singer. Eliana likes to color and paint wonderful pictures. Her hobby, however, is dance class—she performs amazing moves in her wheelchair! Eliana also loves spending time with her family. Eliana is a rockstar. She is full of life and never quits on her goals. She likes making people laugh and making them feel loved. Eliana is a two-of-a-kind girl. One, she inspires! Two, she motivates! And she is the kind of child we all love!

Eliana received a new manual wheelchair to help improve her posture and independence. Her current chair was a loaner and does not provide the proper support. Special thanks to the Houma- Terrebonne Rotary Club, the Houma Sunrise Rotary Club and Amaturo for their generous sponsorship! Eliana even got to enjoy a luncheon with the generous folks at the Rotary club and thank them in person for their love and support!
