Meet Erik!
Meet 15-year-old Erik. He was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus after a severe brain hemorrhage. He cannot walk but is able to transfer himself in and out of his transport chair. Erik is a cool guy who remains happy despite these and other challenges.
Erik enjoys enough activities that pinpointing a favorite thing is impossible. He watches tv and YouTube videos. He listens to all types of music. He also reads enough books to fill a library. Erik is best known to be a funny guy. A day does not go by without Erik putting everyone in stitches of silliness. Two things can be narrowed down about Erik. He is brave and inspiring!
Erik needed a manual wheelchair to improve his posture and independence. Erik’s current transport chair is too big and does not provide proper support. It also limits his mobility. With the help of a grant through GTE, we were able to help Erik obtain the wheelchair that he needed!
