Meet Kaitlin!

Meet 15-year-old Kaitlin. She has a genetic disorder similar to muscular dystrophy known as Myotonic Dystrophy. She has extreme muscle weakness and uses braces to walk. She works hard in physical therapy to improve her leg strength and balance. Kaitlin is quite happy despite having a difficult illness.

Kaitlin manages to have a fun childhood.   She watches the shows Paw Patrol and My Little Pony. Her favorite musical artists are Katy Perry and Maren Morris. She enjoys watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team. She is always excited to go on family excursions, especially visiting Disney World. A simple bike ride makes her happy, too. Kaitlin, however, is best known to have a strong spirit. She tries to be independent and accomplish tasks without help. She can also be a moody teenager. Some might think of Kaitlin as a normal girl. She is anything but ordinary. Kaitlin’s strength and resiliency illustrate her as extraordinary.

Kaitlin received a Convaid EZ Rider stroller from the Foundation of Caring. The stroller will provide safer, easier, and more comfortable long-distance transportation for Kaitlin. We greatly appreciate the Foundation of Caring for their generous support!
