Meet George!

 

 

 

 

Meet 7-year-old George! George has several muscle disorders including centronuclear myopathy, muscular dystrophy and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, which is a form of muscular atrophy. He also has an older brother who was also born with these conditions too. While George can still walk, he fatigues easily. He experiences severe cramping in his extremities and has trouble flexing his feet.

George is described as a free-spirited and loving boy with several unique interests. George loves adaptive surfing! He surfs almost every week with his family. His favorite place to visit is his local candy shop. George is also a fan of musicals, and some of his favorites are classics from the Golden Age of Broadway, such as Hello, Dolly and Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang. However, he also likes current Broadway musicals such as Shrek. George is a resilient young man who doesn’t let his weaknesses get him down. Although George isn’t a Broadway star, he shines just as brightly and doesn’t even require a stage!

George is in need of a manual tilt-in-space wheelchair. Due to not having the appropriate equipment it has been difficult for George for leave his house. This new chair will provide him with an improved quality of life and be easier on his family for transfers. Please be his sponsor!
