Meet Joshua!

Meet 15-year-old Josh. He was born a healthy boy. Sadly, he was diagnosed with a debilitating illness known as Transverse Myelitis. The condition affects the spinal cord and nervous system. Josh was paralyzed when he was 22 months old. He has endured several surgeries, including a spinal fusion procedure. Josh is a quadriplegic and uses a wheelchair, although he retains some movement in his arms. He also maintains a busy life and a positive attitude despite his harsh illness.

Josh is definitely not a victim of his limitations. He plays tons of video games and is becoming a gaming master. He is a hard-working student at school, and his favorite subject is science—he could talk all day about our galaxy and the various types of planets. Josh is physically active, too. The competitive teenager plays wheelchair rugby for Tampa General—his cheering section is the most enthusiastic! Josh also played accessible baseball and basketball. Being a wheelchair-bound athlete is not the best part of Josh. He has a kind heart. He cares deeply for his family and friends. He loves making them laugh and will do anything to see them smile. Clearly, Josh defines the word courage and exemplifies greatness.

Josh needs a bathroom modification for easier, safer, and more comfortable access. Please be his sponsor!
