Meet Maxum!

Meet 12-year-old Max. He was diagnosed with complex disorders that cause him to have muscle weakness and fatigue. He can only walk short distances. He uses a manual wheelchair but still gets tired after 50 feet. Max, despite his frustrating illness, remains positive.

Max enjoys various cool pastimes. He is a huge Star Wars fan. His favorites in the epic are Star Wars Clone Wars and Star Wars Revenge of the Sith. He listens to music from the iconic saga. He enjoys visiting the Disney and Universal theme parks. He loves playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends, but he also likes the video game Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Max is a diligent student who especially excels in English class. Max is highly intelligent—he is similar to characters in the sitcom Big Bang Theory. Max, most of all, is resilient and loving. Nothing gets him down, and even during the darkest times he has a magical way of building people up. This young boy does not need to be a Jedi Knight to be a hero. He is our hero simply by being Max.

Max received an Air Hawk power wheelchair at our 13th Annual Wheely Good Time Auction to help promote independent mobility during school. Special thank you to Ray Ferrara from ProVise and Clay Electric for being his generous sponsors! Max adores his new chair!
