Disturbing the Peace

 

Sonya “Sonni” Bryson-Kirksey is wanted for Disturbing the peace of Amalie Arena, Raymond James Stadium, Al Lang Field and other venues, by singing loudly, with vim and vigor! She is accused of aiding and abetting others to sing “loud and proud” during said sporting events. Her other alleged crimes include: excessive smiling on game days, aggressive fist pumping of police officers, fire rescue/EMT, sheriff deputies, and holding a 35lb metal object above her shoulders in a menacing manner.

Sonya was born and reared in Greenville, South Carolina and became a resident of the Tampa Bay area by way of the U.S. Air Force. She retired in 2015 after two decades of military service and decided to stay in the area. She is the Co-founder of Sonni Reading Project with her sister, Phillis McMiller. They provide children’s stories by way of podcasts for children all over the world. Most in Tampa Bay and the NHL communities know her as the singing voice of the back-to-back Stanley Cup Champions, the Tampa Bay Lightning.
