Meet six-year-old Sebastian. He was diagnosed with Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum, a disease where the connective tissues between the two brain hemispheres fail to develop. The illness creates a challenging life for Sebastian. He is cognitively impaired and nonverbal. He also struggles walking. He remains active and happy despite the limitations in his daily life.

Sebastian is best described as laid back and outgoing. He enjoys relaxing at home watching colorful cartoons or listening to children’s music. He even plays a variety of musical instruments at home. His favorite is shaking the maracas. Sebastian is also very social and dislikes being alone. For example, he tries to participate in conversations so he can be part of a group.  He enjoys being around his friends at school. Most of all, Sebastian loves playing with his mom. Sebastian is also described as a hard worker. Currently, he is determined to walk without help from his family. The happiest day will be when he can walk away from his disease and towards the arms of his proud mom.

Sebastian received his very own gait trainer! With this gait trainer he will be able to work extra time on building his leg strength and balance. This will help him reach his goal of independent walking so much faster!

Thank you to all our generous sponsors who made this possible!
