Meet Naiya!

Meet two-year-old Naiya. She was diagnosed with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy, a type of brain damage occurring after blood and oxygen deprivation. Months later she was diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy. She is nonverbal. Naiya also uses a gait trainer to walk. Naiya is happy even during her difficult circumstances.

Naiya has fun in several ways. She watches Sesame Street and The Price is Right. She listens to children’s music. Her favorites include “Five Little Monkeys” and “The Wheels on the Bus.” Naiya also has a dog that she loves trying to chase. The dog wags his tail with delight during the game. Nayua always smiles during these activities and  between. The best day in her life, however, will be seeing her daddy come home after his deployment in Afghanistan. On that day her home will be complete, and dad can get to know his amazing daughter.

Naiya received her trike and is getting more comfortable every time she uses it. This trike will not only provide Naiya with additional physical therapy to help strengthen her leg but it will also allow for family activities!
